Sabor Latino

What do the latinos have in common with the fourth of July?

We say, many things. The fourth of July talks about history, foundation, character, vision and of course, independence. That is what builds the soul and mind of the Latin community. When  the Latinos arrive to the United States, they are not only trying to get away from a more challenging life as common knowledge often suggests, they are also coming to the United States to build something, to grow in a nation that with its 235 years has shown to be built with vision, entrepreneurship and leadership.

There is a family in Canyon Country with deep Latin roots that decided to keep adding to the growth of this country, and their plan was to start one store at a time. That is the story of the new Sabor Latino Super Market.

If you are in the Canyon Country area, chances are that you have heard, seen and even visited multiple times this new player in town. Far from the big impersonal and cold chains that we are so used to, Sabor Latino comes to add a different flavor in the mix of super market retail. From the moment you arrive, the place is shining clean, the employees, believe it or not, are and look happy to be there. It does not matter what language you speak. Sabor Latino will cater to you with the same warm touch and welcoming smile. Then, you turn around and look for the fresh sweet bread, super fresh produce, or the juicy and tender meat and you realize that it is not just about giving you the smile, but actually delivering you with extraordinary quality and flavor without forgetting good, low prices.

Sabor Latino is built the way many Latin enterprises start: Family. This amazing family is working –actually working- hand on hand with their employees, which by the way, add up to more than 90 at the last count. They show the vision and the value of work that the Latinos have and make a perfect match to a wonderful Independence Day celebration.

While walking through the sparkling clean aisles, we asked different customers about their opinion of this store. The reaction was always the same: Very good, very clean, good prices; but not only that, we found that there is people coming from different parts of Santa Clarita, all the way from Stevenson’s Ranch, to Valencia, and of course, Canyon Country.

Al Robles, Deborah and Paul Roknipour understand business, but as in the 4th of July, they also understand unity, work, vision, independence and family. When you stop by Sabor Latino, whether you are buying pan dulce or getting a good prime rib, buying a piñata for the kids or having a steak torta, look for Al, Paul or Debbie and say hi to them. They will be glad to welcome you into the new Canyon Country  Latino flavor at Sabor Latino, and what better moment to get your supplies for celebrating our Independence than this weekend before 4th of July!

The store is located in 19387 Soledad Canyon Road, Canyon Country, in the TJ Maxx shopping center, in between Whites Canyon and Camp Plenty. They are open from 7am to 11pm., 7 days per week.

The Santa Clarita Latino Chamber of Commerce is making history. This young organization is managing to transform the way business is done in our valleys. Not only have they significantly increased their membership numbers, but also they have maintained the vision of building relationships to build better businesses and better lifestyles as well. This Chamber through the leadership of their CEO Bill Miranda, his President Bob Pacheco along with their team and the support of the Old Town Newhall Association, conducted a massive event never seen before in downtown Newhall to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. The event had more than 5,000 attendees and live television coverage that reached over 18 million homes via 360 Live, company led by Raul Alberto, board member and co-founder of the SCV Latino Chamber.

SCV latino Chamber of Commerce

Mission Statement:

To promote the success and prosperity of Latino business owners and professionals and to contribute to

the well-being of the community

In 1978, Hispanic leaders from throughout California convened to

discuss the lack of representation of Hispanic businesses in state government. These leaders recognized the need for an organization to effectively represent the interest of the rapidly growing number of Hispanic-owned businesses in California. That group formed the Cali

fornia Hispanic Chambers of Commerce. In 2010 a new member was added: The Santa Clarita Valley Latino Chamber of Commerce.

Today, the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce has a network of over 65 Hispanic chambers and business associations throughout the State. Through its network of Hispanic chambers and business associations, the chamber represents the interest of over 700,000

Hispanic business owners in California

. That chamber is the premier and largest regional ethnic business organization in the nation that promotes the economic growth and development of Hispanic entrepreneurs and California’s Emerging Businesses.

With powerful resources at our disposal and outstanding community leadership involvement, the SCV Latino Chamber promises to be a strong support organization to provide local businesses the networking, education and resources they need to succeed.

Our current programs include: monthly networking mixers and breakfasts; business open houses to promote individual businesses; business executive mastermind groups to help address individual issues and challenges; and three major sponsored events: Cinco de Mayo in May, Education Gala in June and Festival of the Americas in September.
